Raccoon Run has been locally owned and operated for over four decades. Giving our best service to paddlers of all breeds. Anglers, bird watchers, boy scouts, youth groups, explorers, and family's of all numbers in sizes have paddled with us time after time. We look into our past memories and try to improve the experience for new ones to come by getting the information that paddlers want to them.
Original owner and founder of Raccoon Run started it 1973 with one six-canoe trailer and two staff members running the lower stretches of the Grand River in the Painesville area. Over the next few years, with good service and faithful customers, he was able to add an eight-canoe trailer to the mix and by the early 80's switched to all Old Town canoes giving the area one of its first markets for Old Town products. In 1986 the operation was pulled out of Painesville and placed in its present home as a neighbor to the Harpersfield Covered Bridge. With the new home creating a broader selection of the river accessible and giving a wider spread of marketing, Raccoon Run was able to grow again and again over the years providing rentals to churches, scout groups, schools, and many more organizations.
